This is one of those topics where I would love to hear feedback from people on what being a Christian means to them. It is such a great discussion starter and I feel like its so important to talk about this because I think a lot of times people stray on what the image of being a Christian looks like.
In my opinion, being a Christian is more than just saying you are one. You gotta back up those beliefs by your actions. That is one thing I think is the hardest just because Christians are famous for pointing out everyone else’s mistakes and not their own.
We need to be more loving towards people who don’t believe in the same things that we do. We must show them the love that God has shown us. Showing people that will stop them in their tracks. Accepting who they are no matter what they have been through speaks so much to those people.
Isn’t that our job?? Aren’t we supposed to go out and speak life into people? We are the walking talking Jesus until He comes back. Which means we have no time to judge! We only have time for kindness and love towards one another.
I think that a lot of times Christians feel like they have to stick together because the world is awful. But it is the complete opposite. We need to go speak Gods word to people we do not know. It’s very selfish of us to not share the amazing news of who Jesus is and what He did for us.
Don’t misunderstand what I am saying though. I do think that we need to surround ourselves with lovers of Jesus as well because we need that fellowship as Christians. We need the support of other believers. BUT I do think that a group of 5 believers could change the world just by putting their heads together and through the help of God, He will lead you to the people who need you the most if you just let Him.
Let’s not be silent Christians. Let’s be LOUD and VIBRANT in the words that we speak to others. We must use our gifts that God gives us.
Just for a second, I want you to think about the joy that comes out of being a believer. Now think for a second if you have people in your life that don’t necessarily believe the way you do? Wouldn’t you want them to feel that same joy and wouldn’t you love to help them find that same joy?
Hebrews 4:12 says: The word of God is living and active. God’s words have life, they bring life, as did Jesus’ spoken words to dead Lazarus.
